The Puck App Goaltending Camp is designed to help adult goalies become better at their craft. In a fun, interactive, and friendly environment, coaches will help goalies become better through drills that are used by NHL goalie coaches. The session will start with 10 minutes of warmup and stretching. Afterwards, goalies will be separated into groups of three depending on skill level. Goalies will rotate through 4 stations that will focus on stance and positioning, footwork, puck handling and tracking. The camp will end with several “goalie games” designed to add a competitive and fun element where goalies will be able to utilize the skills they’ve learned in the first part of the practice.
After the on-ice session has been completed, they will participate in an off-ice session tailored to improve eye-hand coordination and reaction time. Afterwards, participants will have the opportunity to socialize with other goalies, and ask any questions they have to the camp’s coaches.
Daniel player 3 years in the OHL before being drafted by the Carolina Hurricanes 69th overall. He then played 3 season professionally in the ECHL with the Florida Everblades and in the AHL with the Charlotte Checkers. Daniel got the opportunity to back up Eddie Lack and Cam Ward in 7 NHL games but never had the privilege of playing a game. While playing and since retiring, Altshuller has done a lot to give back to the goaltending community; he has led several goaltending sessions for Jr. A teams and is excited to help adult goalies through Puck App’s Camps to become better goalies.
Alex Fotinos is the current goalie for the York University Lions and OUA champion. Prior to playing at York, Alex played 4 season in the OHL with the Barrie Colts and Windsor Spitfires. Alex is a smart and technically sound goalie and is excited to share his knowledge with other goalies on improving their techniques and positioning to stop more shots.
The camp will have 15 spots and be divided into smaller groups based on skill.
